Individually Sized Apple Crisp

An  À-La-Mode Individual…

Anything individually sized is great if you’re cooking for one or two. It prevents waste, costs less, and most of us will benefit from the portion control.  Portion control helps us simplify calorie counting, and prevents us from over eating, or taking glutenous portions (which can be oh-so-tempting when there is an entire pie available).

1 large apple, peeled and sliced

1 tbsp flour

2 tbsp brown sugar

1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

2 tbsp instant oatmeal

1 tbsp butter (warmed), plus extra to grease baking dish

  1. Preheat oven to 350°
  2. Place apple slices in greased ceramic baking dish
  3. In a small bowl mix together brown sugar with soften butter, then add in the oats and cinnamon
  4. Spoon topping mixture on to apples
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes

Tip: Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream
