Beautitude – Beauty with an Attitude

On February 2nd, I was invited to kickstart my #GuiltFree2017, by celebrating the launch of Beautitude‘s Sweet & Salty collection of all-natural, vegan, cruelty-free beauty products.  The brand joined forces with the team at Wonderblush beauty services, and empowerment photographer, Pazit Perez, to make every gal invited feel like a rockstar.

The event was hosted in the heart of downtown Montreal, by the fabulous team at Rev Communications, in the Presidential Loft at the Holland Hotel.  The occasion brought together a crowd of inspiring and influential women who work in blogs and media – to be pampered, reflect on the importance of self-love, and of course to indulge in vegan beauty products (ahem: with an attitude).

The concept behind Beautitude Beauty Products started with two local Montreal sisters, Chrisanthy and Catherine Boriamos.  After growing up around their family’s sugar and salt import business, the entrepreneurial duo saw the glam-portunity to expand the business in fun and exciting new ways.

The event space was elegantly put together for the perfect photo-ops:

The kitchen area was reserved primarily for making pretzels with Bretzel & Compagnie, but also had a beautiful display of tapas and Bubbly.

I started at the nail bar, where I was pampered with Beautitude’s “Feeling Haute” salt soak, followed by a hand rub with their sweet scrub, “Pardon my Polish”.

After sampling the products further at home, I found “Pardon my Polish” to be perfect for my dry skin – great for exfoliating and hydrating the dry skin around my nails, and any other ashy spots caused by winter. “9-1-1 Lemonade” quickly became part of my after-work-out shower ritual, helping me combat body acne caused by workout sweat.

The next step was glam – makeup and hair dos in preparation for your photoshoot.

I was lucky enough to have my makeup touched up by Wonderblush founder, Melanie Hachey. Hachey inspired me from the moment I sat in her beauty stool, observing her flawless foundation and seemingly effortless style.  By the time she perfected my winged liner, and lightly airbrushed my freckled skin, I got to learn her #GirlBoss story.

Before opening her own salon, Hachey worked as the Marketing Director at Coca-Cola.  As a newly wed, she was inspired to leave her hectic, demanding career, and pursue something she loved – makeup.  After spending some time training as a makeup artist at Giorgio Armani – she took her business experience and passion for beauty and created her own salon, Wonderblush.  Launching in March 2016, the beauty destination in the Château St-Ambroise is a breath taking, creative haven where you can go to be pampered, glammed, or to escape your daily life.  Sip on your favourite caffeinated beverage while the trusted specialists enhance your hair, makeup, lashes, or give you a spray tan. The team is also available for private bookings, and can travel to your home, office, or shoot for your convenience.

Finally, I got to get some head shots taken by empowerment photographer Pazit Perez. Perez was comforting to work with, her and her assistant gave you tips on where to look, how to turn tilt your hear, and how to pose. I’m excited to see the results from the shoot.
